How To Pick Tulips

  • 1. Pick Your Basket

We provide picking buckets to carry your flowers while you explore (please note, these buckets are not for sale). If you prefer, you’re welcome to bring your own basket or bucket to make the experience uniquely yours.

  • 2. Go Picking!

Find a tulip or daffodil you love, then reach down as close to the soil as possible.

Grasp the stem firmly and pull straight up to avoid damaging the plant.

Occasionally, a bulb may come up with the flower—don’t worry! Bulbs will be removed at the wrapping station.

Pick Only What You Plan to Purchase: We kindly ask you to be mindful and pick only the flowers you intend to take home. If you do happen to pick something you don’t want, we do ask you to respect us and pay for it.

  • 3. Visit the Wrapping Station

When you’re done picking, head over to the wrapping stations located in the checkout building:

Our staff will trim off any bulbs, count your flowers, and wrap them in kraft paper to keep them safe for their journey home.

While there, browse our selection of vases, farm merchandise, and even our very own honey—perfect for adding a sweet touch to your visit!
  • 4. Care for Your Flowers at Home

Trim 1/4 inch off the ends of the stems before placing them in a vase of cool, clean water.

Keep your flowers out of direct sunlight and away from heat to extend their freshness.

Pro Tip: The cooler you keep your flowers, the longer they’ll last. If they wilt on the way home, don’t worry! Put them in water as soon as you get home, and they’ll quickly perk back up.
